Liverpool hopes Werner will be accommodating

Wolfgang Holzem

According to Timo Werner, he would prefer to go abroad at the moment and Liverpool FC is a particularly good club, but the Reds still need time due to to Covid-19 crisis.

Timo Werner is dominating the headlines again this year with the latest statement by the striker from RB Leipzig that caused a stir, that he would rather go abroad than playing within the Bundesliga.

After Werner’s push, Liverpool FC in particular currently needs to be given greater opportunities. Contact with Werner is constantly maintained, but the matter obviously cannot be closed due to Corona crisis.

Liverpool are playing for time

Even for a club like Liverpool, the financial damage caused by the crisis cannot be taken lightly and must first be assessed. Jürgen Klopp and Co. are encouraged to postpone concrete talks with Werner and hope for understanding for the goal scorer as its exit clause is 60 million euros.

The Italian representatives of Juventus Turin, Inter Milan and FC Barcelona are also interested in Werner.

Carlo Ancelotti accuses the UK of underestimating the pandemic

Wolfgang Holzem

Everton team manager Carlo Ancelotti has accused the UK of underestimating the coronavirus pandemic.

“I have the impression that the dire situation has not really been understood here in Great Britain. Life goes on almost as usual,” criticized the coach in an interview with “Gazzetta dello Sport”.

However, he welcomed the decision to suspend the Premier League. “That is correct, in view of the scenario of the past few hours. You couldn’t go on like this. Health is a priority for everyone: teams, fans, clubs and employees in the football sector,” said the 60-year-old football coach, who was once with the German record champions FC Bayern Munich had been active.

At Everton, midfielder Andre Gomes has contracted the corona virus. “We are not in quarantine, but preventive measures have been taken. Gomes is doing better. The fever has decreased and that is the most important thing,” said Ancelotti.

The coach is concerned about the epidemic in his home country of Italy, where the death toll has risen to over 2000. “Given the tragedy we are experiencing, football is of no importance to me now.

We have to face a pandemic, a situation that no one has experienced before us. The rising death toll in Italy is terrible. Now you have to be on the ball concentrate this fight. The rest doesn’t count, said Ancelotti.
