Maranello Coronavirus Covid-19 Holidays 2020 to Emilia-Romagna Italy

Maranello is a town and commune in the region of Emilia-Romagna in Northern Italy, 18 km from Modena, with a population of 17,165 as of 2018. It is known worldwide as the home of Ferrari and Scuderia Ferrari Formula One racing team. Maranello was also home to coachbuilding firm Carrozzeria Scaglietti, owned by Ferrari.

Get in

If your coming by train from Modena then you have to take a bus to the bus station and then a bus to Maranello.

Take a bus from the Modena bus station. The bus to Maranello leaves every 1 hour and takes abt 30 mins be sure to ask the driver to stop at the galleria ferrari stop.

The Maranello bus station is along the street from the Ferrari factory. Tickets can be purchased at the pub.

Get around

The town is quite compact so you can walk.

See

This town is all about Ferrari. The Ferrari factory is off-limits, unless you are able to arrange a tour through a Ferrari dealership. Preference for those tours is given to Ferrari owners and 30 days notice is usually required. But the Galleria Ferrari which boasts both historical and new Ferrari road and F1 cars is worth seeing. You can also see a part of the Fiorano test circuit from the roadside when coming into town – if there is testing going on, expect to see a lot of tifosi (Ferrari fans) around.

Ferrari SpA

Maranello has been the location for the Ferrari factory since the early 1940s, meanwhile World War II Enzo Ferrari transferred facilities by uptown Modena, ending an Alfa Romeo subsidiary long period. Initially Ferrari’s factory in Maranello was shared with Auto Avio Costruzioni, a machine tool manufacturing business started by Enzo to tide the company over while Alfa Romeo’s ban on Enzo Ferrari making cars bearing the Ferrari name was in force. In Maranello is also located Museo Ferrari public museum, collecting sports and racing cars and trophies.

Its new library opened in November 2011, and was designed by Arata Isozaki and Andrea Maffei.

Maranello is the starting point of the annual Italian Marathon, which finishes in nearby Carpi.

Do

Ferrari Galleria is the only actual sight alongside the Fiorano circuit. It’s not far from the Ferrari factory (an easy building to spot if coming on a bus): just walk towards the Ferrari Store opposite the factory and search for a sign. Tickets are 12€/adult. If you are a family its better buying a family ticket which costs 8€/adult

Buy

There is lots of Ferrari merchandise available everywhere.

Eat

You can eat in a – you guessed – Ferrari themed restaurant or look for something else. You won’t starve.

Drink

Find a pub – not difficult.

Where to stay in Maranello

Your options are better in Modena
