Corona loosening : Chaotic Scenes on a beach in Southern England

The hottest day of the year so far in the UK has caused a rush to the beaches in the country. In Bournemouth in the south in particular, the authorities were horrified by the behavior of many guests

In the sun and high temperatures, tens of thousands of people flocked to the coasts in the south of the country and authorities had to crack down on massive overcrowding on a beach in Bournemouth.

I was “shocked” by the “irresponsible behavior of so many people,” said district administrator Vikki Slade. Such crowds were otherwise only on the holidays.

Thursday’s hottest Day

Emergency forces reported from illegal parking, chaotic scenes in traffic, garbage pollution, aggressive behavior of beach visitors to brawls under the influence of alcohol.

Thursday was the hottest day of the year in England. In the afternoon, a good 33 degrees were measured at London Heathrow Airport.

According to the government, numerous visitors camped illegally overnight.

Loosening since Wednesday

The government in London announced on Wednesday extensive easing of the month-long corona restrictions. It is now allowed to go to the beach again. However, people are called to continue to adhere to the distance rules with restaurants, bars and hotels only to be allowed to open on July 4th.

“We are clearly still in a health crisis,” said Dorset County Deputy Chief of Police Sam de Reya. Crowds visiting the same place are an additional burden for the emergency services, he criticized. Britain is the worst affected country in Europe by the pandemic.
